Parx Casino Fined $10,000 for Underage Gambling, Guardians Penalized for Leaving Children Unattended

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has levied a $10,000 fine on Parx casino operator Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment for permitting underage gambling, along with penalties for guardians who left their offspring unsupervised in the casino parking area.

The penalty stems from a breach of the underage gambling law, where an 18-year-old was permitted to enter the casino floor and engage in slot machine play at Parx Casino in Bucks County.

State gambling regulations prohibit anyone under the age of 21 from entering and remaining in any licensed establishment area containing slot machines.

The PGCB also addressed three instances where guardians left their children in vehicles in the casino parking lot to enter the casino. The regulatory body did not disclose the casinos involved.

One guardian left an 11-year-old child unattended in the car to redeem a sports lottery ticket, another left an 8-year-old and a 5-year-old boy unattended in the car to wager at the craps table, and another left four children aged 2 to 13 unattended in the car to observe their acquaintance play at the craps table.
