Churchill Downs Acquires Exacta Systems for $250 Million

Churchill Downs Incorporated (CDI), a racing enterprise, has finalized the procurement of Exacta Systems, a provider of historical horse racing.

The $250 million agreement will enable CDI to achieve substantial and direct benefits.

CDI’s racetrack in Virginia, Colonial Downs and Rosie’s Gaming Emporium, already features Exacta historical horse racing machines. This signifies that CDI will control the entire value chain.

CDI will deploy more historical horse racing machines (HHRMs) at its other locations.

Exacta will be incorporated into CDI’s B2B subsidiary TwinSpires, supplying content for its existing third-party clients in Kentucky, Wyoming, and New Hampshire.

The division, previously CDI’s operational business, has been reconfigured as a B2B offering and already powers DraftKings’ horse racing app DK Horse.
