Codere Awarded Fifth Online Gaming License in Colombia

The Iberian gaming firm Codere has formally debuted its Colombian-facing platform, Codere.com.co.

This comes after the statement issued earlier this week by Colombian gaming authority Colijuegos that it had granted Codere its fifth internet gaming permit.

The fresh authorization, which amounted to almost US $7 million and is effective for half a decade, encompasses online sports wagering and casino amusements, reachable through handheld gadgets as well as diverse physical channels.

Codere will function in Colombia under its “Codere Apuestas” trademark, augmenting its current physical presence. The Madrid-traded corporation has been managing gaming establishments, bingo halls, and casinos in the nation for over three decades.

In the previous year, Colombia emerged as the inaugural Latin American state to legalize internet gambling. Subsequently, Colijuegos has bestowed three licenses to domestically-owned operators Wplay.co, Corredor Empresarial, and Colbet, but it wasn’t until October that GAMING1 became the pioneering international enterprise to be bestowed an online casino and sports betting permit.

Preceding Codere’s introduction, Colijuegos chairman Juan B. Perez conveyed that the regulatory body anticipated awarding a minimum of two additional licenses before the year’s conclusion.
